Tunnel mode for IPsec VPN connection and increased IOPS for st2 volume type
We've upgraded our cloud VPN service.
Tunnel mode for IPsec VPN connection
Now you can configure IPsec VPN connection both in transport and tunnel mode in CROC Cloud. It seriously wides the list of devices which can be easily connected with cloud infrastructure via IPsec VPN connection. Besides its prevalence, the tunnel mode of IPsec is also a more secure type of connection and supports the NAT traversal technology.
Transport mode connections are still available for creation. Their type was renamed in ipsec.legacy. The default type ipsec.1 denotes the tunnel mode connections now.
To connect your device with cloud infrastructure you should:
- create a customer gateway, setting your device information;
- create the VPN connection with the customer gateway;
- configure your device according to the settings, downloaded on the created VPN connection page.
You can find more information about VPN functionality and API in the VPN connections and VPN Connections API sections of documentation.
Increased IOPS for st2 volume type
The performance of the st2: Standard (HDD) volumes of 2000 GiB and more was increased from 500 IOPS to 1000 IOPS. This allows to use them for applications, more sensitive to the input-output operations per second performance.
