Mandatory two-factor authentication and other CROC Cloud updates

09.06.2021 2 minutes 103

This digest is meant to keep you updated on all recent features available in the cloud but not yet covered by previous announcements.

Usability lies in the details. In parallel with the release of major updates, such as the third availability zone, we continued to work on "minor" improvements that make working with CROC Cloud easier, safer and more convenient. Here's what's new.

Mandatory two-factor authentication

We keep improving 360-degree cloud security. Users with admin grants on the users' service can now make two-factor authentication mandatory for any company account, both new and existing one. When creating a new account, tick the Activate two-factor authentication (2FA) checkbox in the Creating a new user dialog box. When modifying an existing account, switch on the Mandatory 2FA selector on the user page in the IAM section.

Custom configuration of Kubernetes Ingress Controller

The Ingress controller does not always require the processing power of the worker and master nodes. Therefore, the Kubernetes cluster wizard makes it possible now to independently select the instance type and volume parameters for the Ingress controller.

Over quota warning when creating a Kubernetes cluster

An over quota warning is displayed in the New Cluster wizard when there are not enough resources to deploy a Kubernetes cluster. The available limits can be checked in the Quotas section.

Subnets associated with route tables

For convenience, the Subnets tab on the route table page now displays information about the explicit or implicit associations between the route table and subnets. Here you can also associate or disassociate a route table with specific subnets of your choice.

Enhanced tag support

Tags are now set and displayed consistently for all assets in wizards and resource pages. This unification also covers Elastic IP address allocation, so that tags for the allocated address can be assigned in the corresponding wizard. Tags for an Elastic IP can also be added using the TagSpecification parameter in the AllocateAddress method.

FYI

  • The instance table in the Tariff section presents data on processor generation.
  • The Quotas section now has detailed descriptions of some limits.
  • The subnet page displays the availability zone information.
