New CROC Cloud Features

18.09.2020 2 minutes 48

Here is a review of all significant changes in CROC Cloud introduced over this summer.

Faster snapshot creation

We have significantly redesigned the snapshot creation process. Now, snapshots are created 3.5 times faster. In addition, now you don’t have to wait until the snapshot is created to proceed with using a volume. You can do whatever you need once the process is started, for example, execute any operation with a volume or start instance it is attached to. Snapshot creation progress can be monitored in Snapshots section.

Default subnets

Starting from June, default subnets are created in default VPC for each availability area when creating a new project. Therefore, you can easier create instances in a new project because you don’t need to create a subnet first since it already exists there. Moreover, you don’t have to specify the subnet when creating an instance using API because in this case, an instance will be launched in a default subnet. In projects created before 16.06.2020, you can create a default subnet by yourself.

Network map

Starting from August, a side menu includes updated Network map section, where you can see the topology of your networks, configure the map display view and save it as .png file.

Tags API

Finally, we are happy to inform you that now you can use tags to organize and manage your resources. Currently, tag management is only available in API, but we will add an option of tagging instances and volumes to CROC Cloud web interface soon. Stay tuned to our updates!
