FAQ
How long will it take to migrate to your cloud?
Migration timeframe depends on the IT infrastructure size and complexity. The migration itself takes from one day to two weeks depending on the number of information systems to be migrated. The preparatory phase includes infrastructure survey and migration planning, each taking up to one week.
How much time does it take to complete switchover?
It’s up to the customer to decide on the allowed downtime based on the business requirements and systems priority. This, in turn, determines what migration methods and tools may be used.

If service operation may be interrupted under no circumstances, like in case of real-time transactions, it requires a special solution, for example, a cluster.

Our experience, however, shows that at least a few minutes can be carved out to stop even critical systems, which is enough to start all target virtual machines in the cloud. Typically, systems are off for five to ten minutes, even when large-scale infrastructures are deployed.

The longer downtime is allowed though, the easier and cheaper your migration is.
What kind of migration assistance do you offer?
A few customers have experience in large-scale infrastructure migration, so our experts are always ready to advise on migration best practices. If you want, we can take care of the full migration cycle: analyze the existing infrastructure, make a migration plan, migrate data and resources, configure and launch virtual machines, and keep maintaining them after that.
What can I outsource to CROC support team?
CROC Cloud Services engineers have ample experience in maintaining various information systems and can provide support at all levels, from setting up a virtual cloud infrastructure to maintaining business applications, and even tracking business metrics. How do you migrate licenses to the cloud?
It depends on software vendor’s policies whether you can or cannot use your current licenses. Some vendors strictly prohibit license migration to public clouds or bind licenses to the equipment in use. Remember to clarify this, when you plan your migration.

Vendors usually offer one month software trials, which is just enough to test the solution and make up your mind on how you will arrange migration.
