Positive Technologies Selects CROC’s Cloud to Host New Product Development
Positive Technologies, an international vendor of information security solutions, has been using CROC’s cloud to develop and test new products, as well as train employees of 60 partner companies. The use of cloud resources has helped Positive Technologies save up to 40% of IT equipment budget and accelerate time-to-market for new products.
The company has representative offices in the UK, USA, Italy, Czech Republic, and South Korea, with the orchestrated performance of its international teams of experts being key to efficient and rapid new product time-to-market. CROC’s cloud has helped the customer create a unified development environment that has improved teamwork performance, reduced IT costs, and streamlined IT infrastructure administration.
Positive Technologies uses CROC’s cloud to allow customers, partners, and distributors worldwide to test products, as well as deliver online training, thus helping end customers use software solutions more effectively.
«We pay particular attention to testing new product versions as this is the core development stage, quality and duration of which directly depend on underlying infrastructure performance,» says Maxim Filippov, Business Development Manager, Positive Technologies in Russia. «On average, various automated tests of new versions take several days and require approximately 100 virtual servers. Positive Technologies’ portfolio includes 10 commercial products, each being upgraded in accordance with a customized development roadmap (several major releases per annum). This is why infrastructure for automated tests can only be built using cloud services.»
Cloud platform selection criteria were its high performance, guaranteed protection against data loss, clear cost control, and handy resource management.
CROC’s cloud meets all of Positive Technologies’ requirements thanks to the use of highly scalable virtual machines and extremely fast all-flash disks. The cloud infrastructure spans two distributed data centers, thus enabling extra data protection. In addition, special services prevent hacks, attacks, and leaks, while hourly billing simplifies IT cost calculating and forecasting. The cloud infrastructure can be easily customized through one-click resource provisioning via a handy management console compatible with Amazon API, which is familiar to most IT developers. Furthermore, a Terraform utility provides additional ease of use by automating all cloud infrastructure deployment processes via preset templates. This helps to speed up administrator’s work several-fold and reduce routine operations.
«We pay particular attention to protecting the services of our partners and contractors and had no doubts regarding the reliability of CROC’s cloud, since Positive Technologies performed a lot of penetration tests there,» added Oleg Senchenko, Head of IT Department, Positive Technologies.
«Software developers frequently use external cloud resources. Since its launch, dozens of companies have used CROC’s cloud to host virtual machines for IT solution testing and provide access to their systems based on the SaaS model. In addition to the technical excellence of CROC’s cloud, customers also enjoy our personalized service delivery approach, which sets us apart from competitors, including international operators,» says Maxim Berezin, Cloud Service Development Director, CROC.
