CROC and Hystax Launch New Automated Data Migration and DR Environment Creation Service

4 minutes

CROC Cloud Services has entered into a partnership agreement with Hystax, a developer of automated data migration and backup software. This will enable customers to accelerate and simplify data transfer from third-party clouds to CROC’s public cloud, even when changing a hypervisor, as well as build fault-tolerant infrastructures.

Before automated migration tools adapting, moving from one provider to another was quite complicated, risky, and even impossible if there were a lot of long-used legacy software products. Customers were concerned that data transfer from one cloud to another or migration from their own equipment to a provider’s data center would entail huge labor costs associated with reconfiguring all application systems, and long system downtimes. The deployment of Hystax Acura solution within CROC’s cloud allows businesses to achieve fully automated lift-and-shift1 for their applications, thus dramatically accelerating transfer and reducing the probability of errors.

Hystax solution can also be used to implement a DR strategy, i.e. to create a backup site to switch over (inter alia instantly) all systems in case of the failure of a customer’s main data center. This ensures continuous availability of business services, even in the event of a force majeure such as a blackout. In such case, CROC Cloud Services team will perform migration or set up CROC’s cloud as a DR site in a managed service format.

«New Hystax products will help us attract customers concerned about changing a hypervisor when switching to a new provider. With Hystax, such migrations have become as easy as an ordinary virtual machine deployment. Now, a small infrastructure can be moved to a new cloud within 10 minutes,» said Sergey Zinkevich, Product Development Director, CROC Cloud Services.

«Hystax products are truly versatile and equally efficient for various platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, OpenStack, and local physical servers. They offer new opportunities for those customers who use a multi-cloud strategy, need to smoothly move their data to a Russian cloud as required by Russian legislation, or want to avoid overpaying for costly foreign cloud services,» added Nick Smirnov, CEO and Co-Founder, Hystax.
